Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman teaches psychology at the University of California Davis. She also serves as the head of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is well-known for starting modern scientific studies of eyewitness accounts from children's memories and also the application of child victims in court settings. Professor Goodman published widely and has won several grants and has been honored with many national and international distinctions. She has worked with various government agencies and governments across the world on policies and studies on children who are victims of the justice system. She currently acts as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of many professional organizations including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). Professor Goodman is also a part of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the president of America Psychological Association's divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice.
